#IntPiPoMo 2015 Post 8 - Warhammer 40000 - Freeblade

I picked up a new Warhammer 40K game called Freeblade on IOS. I don't often play mobile games, but this one looks and plays great so I may throw myself in and try and play through. I felt that it looks so good for a mobile game, it deserves 10 screenshots!

That marks the end of my 50 screenshots through November and the end of IntPiPoMo2015 for me. Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did taking them.

#IntPiPoMo 2015 Post 7 Elder Scrolls Online

I recently picked up ESO on sale. Having played in Beta, I was reluctant to pay a subscription for it but now it's free to play and a lot more polished, I am taking a shine to it. The graphics are gorgeous and if you haven't tried it yet, I'd recommend it. Here's a few initial shots.

#31 Knifesedge, Wood Elf Nightblade

#32 Ready for action

#33 Local Statue. Incredible detail

#34 Close combat with a bow not advised

#35 My Lil Monkey, free for playing Beta

Red Eye Book Giveaway! Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell (UK residents only) Extended to 31st December!

This week we are giving away a copy of Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell from the Red Eye imprint.

"Dunvegan School for Girls has been closed for many years. Converted into a family home, the teachers and students are long gone. But they left something behind…

Sophie arrives at the old schoolhouse to spend the summer with her cousins. Brooding Cameron with his scarred hand, strange Lillias with a fear of bones and Piper, who seems just a bit too good to be true. And then there’s her other cousin.
The girl with a room full of antique dolls. The girl that shouldn’t be there. The girl that died.

Alex Bell’s chilling novel is part of the Red Eye series, perfect for fans of James Dawson’s Say Her Name and Kendare Blake’s Anna Dressed in Blood."

If you would like to be entered into the draw for the book, comment either at the Indie Horror Blog or on the post at knifesedge.net

Due to postage costs, unfortunately the draw is only available to UK residents.

A random winner from all entrants will be picked on 31st December, 2015.

Beyond Lovecraft - an exciting new Indie Go Go campaign

The wonderfully engaging award-winning author Jasper Bark has embarked on a project with award-winning artist, Rob Moran to create an incredible looking graphic novel, Beyond Lovecraft. Containing 96 pages of four stand alone tales drawn directly from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The creators have a publisher but are looking for supporters through Indie Go Go.
They are offering some great incentives (but read the small print, Mr. Bark has a reputation when it comes to contracts and his acquisition of souls)

I'll let Jasper describe it in his own inimitable style. Further information can be found here.

#IntPiPoMo 2015 Post 3 - Banished

My new non MMO of the moment is Banished, the village building and management game, with the bits I love about Civ (the building) and none of the bits I hate (fighting and bureaucracy) so I'm loving Banished, though I seem to be a little late to the game.

It took me a few tries to get the balance of food to explansion right, but I finally seem to have hit upon a village that is working and expanding at the right rate. Here's a few shots of my town!

#11 A town begins with a few houses, marketplace and a nice big lake for fishing

#12 First few houses planned out

#13 Later stages of my towns development, including a chapel

#14 My first Iron mine, pumping out lovely smoke!

#IntPiPoMo 2015 Post 1 - LOTRO characters

So another month, another blogging challenge, November sees the launch on IntPiPoMo or International Picture Posting Month. I'll be honest and say that this is the first I've heard of it, but it has run before, this year spearheaded by the wonderful Chestnut of Gamer Girl Confessions, the challenge is to post 50 pictures (as every picture paints a 1000 words, that makes 50,000 to match the more established NaNoWriMo)

As my brother is the author of the family, I'll leave that to him and posting pictures of my gaming is much more up my alley.

So here's a few from the vault. Not sure if I'll manage a theme, but today I introduce a few of my characters from Lord of the Rings Online.

#1 LOTRO - Jestro, Hobbit Hunter in action
#2 LOTRO - Warden Pinestro, baffled at the size of Wargs in this region

#3 LOTRO - Captain Diaspora returns at last to Gondor

#4 LOTRO - Johnah the Burglar, Rich at last!

#5 LOTRO - Knifesedge the Hunter, newest addition to the clan

Bullroarer stress test pictures

I spent a little time on the LOTRO test server, Bullroarer this weekend. Not only were Turbine calling for help to stress test the new data center, but they offered incentives, Turbine Points for every one and a draw for other goodies including the chance to win a Lifetime account.

What I didn't expect was what I found when I strolled into Bree! Face to face with a Balrog, under fire from Free Peoples of all classes.

Joining the fray, I soon realised what we were up again, Balrog after Balrog, 12 in total, followed by numerous giant bears and even Saruman showed up! Jestro even got the killing blow on one of the Balrogs.

The server appeared to cope admirably and according to Turbine there were a record number of players on any server ever so this bodes well for the new tech.
